This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer

Key Objectives

Establish a lead within Glasgow 2014's team to oversee the development of the Games technology strategy, preparation and delivery of integrated operational plans for technology, including the media operations and broadcast requirements of the OC. Responsibilities·

The Technology Director will actively direct the sourcing, management and delivery of information systems (Games Management Systems; Timing Scoring and Results Systems ; Diffusion and Integration Systems; telecommunications

Manage the technology infrastructure at venues and the Athletes Village plan
Manage the Organising Committee's office technology plan, establish the initial broadcast and press operations scope and collaborate with key functional areas to deliver the required media infrastructure and services to allow for quality coverage of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games

Ensure timely and on-budget completion of all deliverables, leading the OC in its technology strategy and decisions, including: software platforms, third-party vendors, web-based technology and tools, and supporting the appointment of host broadcaster

Lead the development and execution of the Glasgow 2014 technology strategy, including the scoping of media operations and technology resources and partnerships

Provide the day-to day management and strategic direction for a growing technology team and input to the development of the Organising Committee's broadcast and media team(s)

Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for development, delivery and maintenance operations

Responsible for the management and successful execution of technology projects including, but not limited to: Games management, information diffusion/integration and timing scoring and results system; telecommunications; technology at venues and the Athletes Village; the Organising Committee's office technology, websites, capacity planning, budgeting and cost management

Responsible for the management and successful execution of media-related projects including, but not limited to: international broadcast centre and main press centre development and delivery, broadcast and press venue/compound infrastructure and operations and input to the scoping of media services (broadcast and press) planning and delivery

Oversee the operational aspects of technology projects, serving as a liaison with project management, functional areas and the technology team

Ensure all resources required to support projects are identified and tracked to achieve cost, schedule and performance requirements

Translate broad vision provided by senior management and the functional areas into executable plans for action

Develop and manage the technology budget and scope the initial media operations workforce and budget

Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with the technology team, functional areas, Games partners and clients. Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for media technology strategies

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Host Broadcaster procurement
