Job Description:
Success in 2009 has given this leading premium drinks company the opportunity to invest in another Regional Sales Manager to cover key markets in the UK and continental Europe. This is an organisation that is extremely focused on brand building in it's categories and is highly regarded in the market
As a senior player within the business a Regional Sales Manager is expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and initiative and be comfortable at dealing at a strategic level. Preferably you will be located in Scotland however you could be based from anywhere within the UK. The role requires flexibility to travel regularly to the Scottish based Head Office and throughout the UK and Europe to drive key distributor relationships
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director you will manage key distributor relationships within the European and UK markets. To manage the European markets effectively it will be key that you appreciate the cultural differences between each account and be sensitive to their style of working, whilst ensuring the brand and commercial objectives are achieved. It is also important that you are smart with budgets and expenditure to maximise market opportunities. The key responsibilities of this role involve distributor management, developing brand programs, relationship management through route to market and conducting tasting’s, training and managing distributor sales teams
You will also be responsible for a Regional Executive. This will involve identifying training needs and opportunities in order to develop them in their role. You will both regularly liaise to ensure you have up to date knowledge on the distributors and brand goals
To be successful in this role you must have an understanding and a passion for the premium drinks industry. Previous distributor management, negotiation, and the ability to work with distributors using a partnership approach are required. A proven record of going the extra mile for your brands is essential. Whilst it’s not necessary to have operated at a European level having European experience will be an advantage
