With Round 3 Offshore Development now under way there is an imminent requirement for an Assistant Programme Manager to work alongside the Head of Offshore Development in our clients business in Glasgow. 

This is a significant role and will focus on the delivery of large-scale offshore wind farms with joint venture partners on the development programme. 

You will lead the process of establishing and reporting progress on the development, supply chain, engineering, construction, operations, health and safety and business activities of major renewable projects, which will be delivered between 2010 and 2023.  

You will be responsible for: 

  • The production of monthly reports to monitor financial and technical progress across a number of major wind farm projects,
  • Scrutinising monthly progress reports on work streams and review this information against plan, identifying and proposing where mitigating action is required,
  • Monitoring risk profiles across the programme of activity and recommend mitigating actions to manage risk,
  • Identifying gaps between work streams and deciding on strategies to close said gaps,
  • Interpretation of  a whole wealth of complex and disparate data and incorporate in to spreadsheets,
  • Track milestones of the project and work closely with key engineering functions and development teams to ensure this is adhered to,
  • Develop your own risk register and manage according to project time scales,
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as joint venture partners on programme development,
  • Facilitating communication across a large multi-disciplinary project team located in several different countries, 
  • Support and deputise for the programme director in the delivery of the programme.

You will have the ability to influence key decisions across a broad range of activities in several countries and manage large scale wind farm projects. Organisation and commercial skills are of high importance and the ability to influence key decision makers in a confident manor. 

It is essential that you have strong numerical and literacy skills and an excellent understanding of budget monitoring and reporting. 

To be considered for this role you must have a Degree in Engineering combined with a Business or Economics background. It would be desirable if you also have a working background in project development or construction and some understanding of commercial contracts and negotiations but not essential. 

There will be regular travel involved with this role so you should have a flexible and relaxed approach to work overseas at short notice.
