In February 2003, the Scottish Executive launched the National Physical Activity Strategy, which clearly defined Active Schools as an area of focus. sportscotland is committed to investing in this inclusive concept with its essential aim of getting school-aged children more active, more often.

Working in partnership with sportscotland you will support current, and develop new, opportunities for both primary and secondary school pupils to participate in regular, frequent, safe and fun physical activity incorporating sport, play, health and active travel.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and/or GTC registered, and have experience of working with children in education, sport, health, leisure and/or recreation. You will be able to identify good practice and promote the role of physical activity incorporating sport, play, health and active travel, as a contributor to community development. You will also have experience of managing projects in education, sport, health, leisure and/or recreation.

Prior to confirming appointment, we will undertake an enhanced criminal records check through Disclosure Scotland and a mandatory Health Assessment.
