Structural Engineer (Shipbuilding) Dunfermline   £35.00 per hour, 6 months contract

Role Breakdown:

Act as Technical Lead within Lift / Transportation Engineering Team
Perform Design & Review of lifting arrangements
Perform Analysis of fabricated structures during lift / transportation operations using hand calcs or FEA as appropriate
Perform Design and review of rigging arrangements
Perform Design and analysis of lifting / spreader beams
Provide guidance to Lifting & Transportation operations team in yard

Additionally but not essential:

Perform design and review of sea fastening arrangements
Perform design and review of land and marine based transportation arrangements

Qualifications

Degree Qualified Naval Architect / Structural Engineer (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years industrial experience
CEng status

Experience

Sound knowledge of LOLER regulations
Knowledge of BS 5950 / Eurocodes / Classification Society Rules


Software Experience

Mathcad
Proficient working knowledge with Ansys
Experience of using either ProMechanica or Staad Pro
