Service Leader Vocational Learning Kilmarnock   £26,958

(The post will be subject to job evaluation within the next 6 months)

You will support the Head of External Relations by providing dynamic leadership to the College’s Vocational Learning through first class management and delivery of the annual Skills Development Scotland contract providing Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) and Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) to candidates in the workplace.

You will lead the Vocational Learning Team to identify and source new income generation streams by promoting work-based qualifications and other courses to employers. Developing and building relationships with partners and the business community in order to develop the College’s reputation as a provider of choice for business is also a key aspect of this role.

You will be educated to HND level or equivalent and possess relevant knowledge and experience of SVQ/MA programmes, including assessment practices and procedures. An understanding of the commercial environment and the initiative to identify and develop opportunities are also essential.

In addition you will have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, along with a high level of sales and marketing experience. The ability to establish professional and personal credibility with all internal and external customers is also required.
