Structural Engineer Dunfermline   £ Competitive

My client has a current opportunity for a degree qualified Structural Engineer with Heavy lift experience.

You will have experience working within Shipbuilding and will be CEng status.

You must have a sound knowledge of LOLER regulations and also BS5350/Eurocodes/Classification Society Rules.

Role breakdown

Act as Technical Lead within Lift/Transportation Engineering team

Perform Design & Review of lifting arrangements

Perform analysis of fabricated structures during lift/transportation operations using hand calcs or FEA as appropriate

Perform Design and review of Rigging arrangements

Perform Design and analysis of lifting / spreader beams

Provide guidance to lifting and transportation operations team in yard

Additionally but not essential

Perform Design and review of sea fastening arrangements

Perform design and review of land and marine based transportation arrangements

Software Experience

Mathcad

Proficient working knowledge with Ansys

Experience in using either ProMechanics or Staad Pro

This is a contract position for 6 months.
