An opportunity exists for a Maintenance Manager based at our site at bpi - Industrial, Port Glasgow Road, Greenock PA15 2UL.

The Company

British Polythene Industries is the largest producer of polythene packaging in Europe, providing polythene film to a wide range of customers in retail,food & drink .

 The Opportunity

This role at our site in Greenock will take responsibility for maintenance of units which manufacture Industrial Films extruded product with in-line printing.

 The Role

Responsible for all matters of plant maintenance and breakdowns, while leading and developing a team of Maintenance personnel, duties will include;

 ·        Ensure planned, preventative and reactive maintenance are carried out efficiently and to deadline.

·        Effective allocation of labour within budget

·        Manage within the engineering budget

·        Identify, propose and project manage improvements to the Maintenance department, specifically computerised systems and practices and procedures

·        Motivate and drive the team and be responsible for the contractors on site

·        Have the ability to be ‘hands on’ as and when required

  Person

 Essentially you will have gained knowledge and experience of managing a Maintenance department of similar size while working in a manufacturing environment. You will be determined to succeed with the drive to meet a challenge head on. The ability to be able to communicate on all levels is essential, as is motivation and enthusiasm. You will be multi skilled with qualifications of an electrical / mechanical bias, have excellent knowledge of PLC’s, AC/DC motor drives, industrial temperature control and electro control systems. You will also have a sound working knowledge of health and safety.

The Package

This is a day position although the very nature of the job will at times require flexibility of working hours. The position offers a competitive salary in addition to  a range of bpi benefits. It is expected that the job-holder will require to be based in the local area.
