Quarriers Family Support Services are looking to recruit volunteer befrienders to support children in the east end of Glasgow. Based out of our family centre in Barlanark, full training and support will be offered to adults who can offer a child weekly one to one support for 2 to 4 hours each week.
Volunteers are needed to support children and young people aged 5 to 13 years who are experiencing difficulties because of their parents’ problematic alcohol or drug use. Befrienders will be matched to a young person who needs some time out with a supportive adult to increase their confidence and help improve their social skills.
We need befrienders who are committed, reliable and interested in making a difference to children. In return you will be offered excellent training, regular and ongoing support and opportunities to develop valuable skills, knowledge and experience.
Interested in finding out more?
Please contact Alison or Joyce on 0141 781 4264
We are also having an open evening on Thursday 16th September when you can come along and meet other volunteers and find out more.
