As a result of continued expansion and to meet their client's demands, they have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Project Engineer to work within their Regional Aircraft Division based in Prestwick, Scotland.
As a Project Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
- Plan, lead and control engineering activities to ensure delivery against customer programmes
- Manage teams of engineers from different disciplines on specific projects
- Ensure team size and capability is suitable for successful delivery of the work package
- Report to senior management on delivery against programme milestones and budgetary targets
- Identify and support the winning of new business opportunities
- Provide technical governance of engineering processes, identifying improvements in accordance with relevant standards, best practice and developing needs
- Act as engineering focal point for interface with customers, suppliers and collaborators
- Provide in-depth technical knowledge and expertise to both internal projects and as consultancy
- Ensure that chosen design solutions comply with regulatory requirements
- Monitor and maintain the technical integrity of the team's output
- Review and approve technical reports and other documentation
- Contribute to the development of the Systems Engineering capability
As a Project Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Be educated to degree level in an engineering, aeronautical or applied physical scientific discipline, and will have substantial relevant experience
- Have engineering leadership experience in aerospace or other related industries, AND/OR will be a recognised technical authority in your discipline, both by internal and by external customers
- Have a detailed knowledge of the certification and qualification requirements, and knowledge of engineering standards relevant to the particular area of the business
- Have well-developed planning and organisation skills and project management expertise
- Have thorough knowledge of the company's business, and that of customers, competitors and suppliers
