Our client, a growing manufacturer of specialist medical devices in Ayrshire, is looking to strengthen their team with the addition of a Product Development Engineer.

 

Quality: Operates within the company’s quality standards, as required by the Medical Devices Directive. Actively drives the Quality Policy and strong advocate of its principles.

 

Engineering:

• Project manage sub-projects for the development of existing and next generation products and processes
• Optimisation of product / prototype / process.
• Design, develop and implement new concepts and process improvements.
• Carry out initial testing of designs.
• Ensure products meet all regulatory requirements for appropriate market
• Ensure all risk management issues have been reported and actions are being addressed
• Weekly / monthly reporting of tasks to ensure projects are delivered within relevant timescales
• Writing and updating of procedures and company work.
• Support all Operations and Quality related issues.
• Support internal training and development of staff
• Maintain and develop the tools and equipment required to support the ramp up of manufacturing of next generation medical devices.
• Ensure new products and processes have a smooth transfer from development to production.
• Sourcing of manufacturing equipment for new products / to support continuous improvement.
• Ensure risk assessments have been carried out for production.
• Advocate of health and safety policy in respect of tooling / equipment.
• Maintenance and calibration of production tooling and test equipment ensuring all equipment meets specification and requirements.

 

Qualifications:

You will be degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline, together with Experience in an Engineering role within a medical devices organisation.
