Introduction:

My client is a leading global provider of technology solutions for the energy industry.  The Company operate in 15 countries around the world with over 10,000 employees and holds a global reputation for their innovation and excellence 

The technology and engineering centre in Dunfermline, is responsible for the design and manufacture of subsea trees, wellhead systems and associated equipment and employs a dedicated project management team leading a vast number of diverse technical projects. 

The Role:

Reporting to the Director of Projects, this newly created post will be responsible for improving the project management function within the business and developing additional processes to ensure the Dunfermline centre reaches the required standards globally within the organisation.

Key contribution areas include:

  • People management of the Projects groups.  Developing new training and development plans to identify improvement areas.
  • Development of internal processes.  This includes reviewing existing practices across the Projects function e.g. planning and audit systems
  • Acting as the centre’s global representative within the organisation and communicating with cross functional teams within the business to ensure global process alignment within the Projects discipline.

The Candidate:

You will be a seasoned manager and an inspirational leader of teams.  With solid experience managing groups within the Projects function (or similar), your industry background may include Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Marine or medium-heavy engineering.

You will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and will have a range of experience in process improvement tools, ideally supplemented with recognised qualifications.  You will also have certification in a recognised Project Management methodology (PRINCE 2, APM)

There will be some travel expected in this post, mainly within Europe.
