Due to continued growth and success a fantastic opportunity exists for an Electrical R&D Design Engineer to join our client’s well established manufacturing organisation in an engineering graduate training programme. You will spend the first 12 months rotating into various departments within the organisation including Tendering, Service, Planning, Project Management and Manufacturing. Upon completion of this scheme you will move permanently into the engineering group.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Providing engineering assistance for a particular specialised area of a project or all phases of a project from initial development through commissioning.
• Assisting and/or observing software development including design and coding of components and modules according to detailed specifications and direction. Participating in the analysis and development of test plans. Generating test results and making observations and/or recommendations for corrective action.
• Assisting in hardware development and design.
• Developing and writing functional specifications researching and compiling technical information and data as required. Developing drawings and schematics.
• Keeping abreast of latest technological developments and develops an understanding of company products and customer requirements.
• May perform assignments to support field engineering including visits to installation and commissioning sites.
• May require visits to overseas offices in the UK/France and or Germany.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or related Technology subject or equivalent coupled with strong communication and organisational skills. You will demonstrate excellent problem solving and analytical skills and will work well independently or as part of a team.
