Our client is one of Scotlandâs fastest moving technology companies. Based within the Edinburgh region, they currently have a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced Project Manager to join the team.
The Position
The successful applicant will ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions to business problems and opportunities. This will be achieved by managing the end to end systems lifecycle of single or multiple IT projects. The outcome will be new products/services or changes to existing products/services through the co-ordination with relevant business contacts and management of IT resources
Responsibilities
·To ensure Technology projects are resourced appropriately and that teams proposed by the relevant Technology functions have the appropriate skills and experience.
·To foster a high performance team culture, ensuring that the context, rationale and purpose of the project is clear to all team members.
·To ensure project objectives, milestones and service levels are understood, met and maintained by team members.
·To manage project communications ensuring regular and effective communication with the project team.
·To encourage appropriate skill and knowledge sharing across the team.
·To work with the Business and Delivery Manager, and others in Technology to define and quantify the Business Case for the proposed project.
·To work with the Business and others in Technology to define the benefits that are required from the project to be undertaken.
·To ensure that business deliverables are appropriate to business requirements in terms of quality cost and time-scale.
·To input to the prioritisation of the project within the overall programme of work for Technology.
·To develop and/or contribute to the development of the Project Management Plan and mobilise the project.
·To ensure a detailed project plan (delivery schedule) is developed and maintained, identifying key milestones, tasks, priorities, dependencies and responsibilities.
·To work with the relevant functions to specify the resource requirements for each stage of the project and ensure these can be provided from the relevant technical teams as required.
·To manage the selection of 3rd party services that may be required to deliver a project, working with Procurement.
·To apply appropriate formal project management methods to the full systems lifecycle including stakeholder management, risk and issue management, scope control and project monitoring.
·To identify, manage and review risks, including those associated with interdependencies between projects, and take actions to ensure that risks are managed down.
·To develop and sustain relationships with the Project Management Office and other stakeholders to provide regular reviews of progress against milestones to the business and IT management as appropriate.
·To work with the Delivery Manager and the Business Stakeholders to review the level of benefits realisation of the project, undertake post closure project reviews, capturing and sharing lessons learned.
The Candidate
To be considered you will have relevant commercial project management experience across the following:
·A relevant degree or equivalent
·Significant project management experience on large scale or complex IT projects/projects
·Relevant experience in a fast paced industry where IT operates as a strategic partner
·Demonstrable relevant experience of operating in a systems development environment, including direct experience in such a role
·Significant experience of delivering IT projects through others and without direct control
·Previous experience of customer and supplier relationship management relevant to IT, particularly including management of negotiations
·In-depth knowledge of full systems lifecycle
·Broad business knowledge including commercial, financial and technical awareness
·IT Project Management managing delivery through all stages of the systems lifecycle (Initiation, Analysis, Design, Build and Implementation)
·Project Management skilled in at least one project management formal method used in IT environments
·Planning and Control skills, using recognised Project management tools
·Relationship Management establishing and sustaining strong customer and supplier relationships, contractual negotiations, etc
·People Management particularly managing people without direct authority
·Communication skills credible with senior management, good at conflict resolution
·Customer Interaction Management technologies
·Contact Centre Operations and reporting
·IVR Experience, preferably within Genesys

The Package
