The Role:

Our Client are one of the UK’s leading long-haul tailor-made travel specialists, the purpose of the role is to maximise sales by ascertaining client needs and offering an informed and courteous service, always exceeding customer expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

The main responsibilities of our Client’s Travel Sales Consultants can be split into 2 main areas – Sales and Service.

 

 Sales

Answer inbound calls from our Travel Agent partners efficiently and effectively providing first class customer service.

Promote and sell air and ground products in order to meet clearly defined and established targets.

Offer expertise, advice and knowledge to our Travel Agent partners about destinations including airlines, ground arrangements, sightseeing tours, etc..

Provide packages that are “tailor-made” to suit the individual needs of their clients.

Ensure that impeccable customer service is provided on every call.

Seek appropriate guidance and advice as required from the Team Leader.

Become fully knowledgeable about the products and services offered, while utilising the key destination knowledge to help guarantee successful & profitable relationships with our client’s Travel Agent partners.

Remain flexible to business needs, including multi-tasking.

Ensure that all destination knowledge is shared with the wider team to allow a better understanding of the geographical area.

 

Service

Amend existing bookings.

Provide accurate information to their Travel Agent partners on amendment and cancellation fees.

Take payments and confirm bookings.

Problem solve to address any concerns their Travel Agent partners may have.

Add additional services to bookings as per Travel Agent requests.

Take advantage of opportunities and up-sell whenever possible.

Take ownership of issues and problems with bookings whenever they arise, and follow through to ensure a successful resolution is achieved.

Maintain excellent working relationships with all departments.

Seek appropriate guidance and advice as required from Team Leader.

Deal with objections and respond appropriately.

Become fully knowledgeable about the products and services offered.

Remain flexible to business needs, including multi-tasking.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

 

Essential

Excellent oral and written communication skills gained within a sales environment

PC literate

Thorough attention to detail

Enthusiastic & self-motivated

Passionate about Travel

Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise

Ability to inspire confidence and develop rapport with Travel Agents and colleagues

Skill in managing more than one task at a time

Problem solving and negotiating skills

Flexibility and adaptive to change

Ability to excel under pressure

Discretion and awareness of confidentiality

Desirable

Sound knowledge of Galileo central reservation system desirable
