Hays Energy are working in partnership with one of the leading power contractors in the UK. They deal with major Transmission projects (132KV-400KV) on a full turn-key basis providing infrastructure maintenance to the public sector, utilities industry and other large Organisations, with current revenues in excess of £1.2 billion. We are currently seeking two Senior Civil Substation Design engineers to be based in Glasgow. The role offers the chance to be a part of some of the most exciting Substation transmission projects at the moment along with an excellent salary and benefits package.
Role includes;
- Having overall design responsibility for the civil works element on turnkey projects within the utility industry.
- Hands on design based role working on substation projects (132KV - 400KV) from a civils bias.
- Being responsible for delivering a package of work within a project within the civils design team.
- Frequent liaison with other disciplines in the design team and the client will be expected.
- Check design calculations of designers and other engineers within the team. Candidate Specification;
- Should possess a degree in civil engineering and preferred to be chartered or approaching chartered.
- Preferably have previous experience working on substation projects (11KV-400KV)
- Experience in cost estimating would be advantageous
- Have a good understanding of the Transmission Power industry and utilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and to be able to work to dead lines.
- Ability to produce conceptual designs, followed by detail design.
- Able to manage Cad Technicians.
- Have previous experience as a senior civil designer preferably looking at substation projects.
