Technical / Factory Manager - Chemical

Our Client provides a comprehensive package of services to new and existing clients, and is established as a technological innovator in the field of pipeline renovation and rehabilitation.The company develops and manufactures resin based materials for the pipeline industry including linings and coatings.

We are currently seeking a Manager for the factory who will be responsible for leading new product development whilst overseeing the factory and its production. Responsible for all the technical functions on site, this is a varied role involving the managing of factory staff and operations, while maintaining a hands on role within quality system management, product development and technical operations.

Typical duties will include, but not be limited too;

· Developing new materials from ideas through to approval
· Taking materials from laboratory through to pilot phase then full scale production
· Developing and adapting plant for new and evolving production processes
· Quality Control including QC testing
· Managing Safety, Health and Quality (SHEQ) on site with the assistance of the SHEQ team at our Warrington Head Office
· Ordering materials, monitoring stock and maintaining records
· Managing the factory staff and administration
· Taking an active role within the technical and management team.

To be considered for this role you will need to have a degree or equivalent in Chemistry or a related subject, be a proven practical manager or supervisor and be able to demonstrate knowledge of working to ISO standards including relevant quality documentation. Resin / coating experience is essential to the role.

The successful candidate will undergo a training period with the current Factory / Technical Manager during which you will be able to familiarise yourself with the operations, customers and expectations before a full handover which is anticipated to be early 2011.
