Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 7am till 3pm / 11am till 7pm rotational shift pattern - 40 hours per week although some flexibility is required due to production demands
Search Consultancy are seeking a number of Logistic Operators to work within the busy logistics operation of our client based in East Kilbride supplying customer orders to various locations worldwide. This position is on a temporary full time basis working a rotational shift pattern Monday to Friday for an initial thirteen week period. Genuine opportunity of a permanent position with increased pay rate / benefits after a probationary period has been completed.
Duties & responsibilities to include:
Goods Receiving
Order picking and packaging of customer orders in preparation for despatch
Preparation of relevant export documentation in line with customer requirements
Scheduling of transport to meet customer deadlines
Advising customers of shipping details
Liaison with freight forwarders to arrange shipments
Collection of goods from local off site storage facility
Driving small van / transit van
Operation of Counterbalance & Reach forklift trucks
Booking in finished goods from production areas
Supplying materials to manufacturing areas
Carrying out daily / weekly cycle counts
All other duties as required to support the team
Suitable candidates will have previous experience of working in an export environment ideally with air freight security, be able to work to deadlines, work well under pressure and be flexible and adaptable in changing environments.
Suitable candidates must be PC literate and ideally have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Lotus Notes applications. Experience of ERP systems, preferably IFS is also required.
A current forklift licence for Counter Balance & Reach is required as well as a current driving licence essential as driving duties will also be included in this role.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, be looking to settle in long term or permanent employment and have an enthusiastic, can do approach to their work.
