Our client, a leading financial services firm, is looking for a Tax Assistant to join their team in Edinburgh.
The role holder will report to the Tax Manager and ensure that Capital Gains Tax tasks are processed in an efficient manner within agreed timescales.
Responsibilities will include the preparation of share histories from information provided by clients, accountants and investment managers. You will be required to ensure that any errors identified are reported to the team leader at the earliest opportunity, and be prepared to be involved in discussions to help develop systems and procedures. In addition, you will be involved in communication with internal and external clients and, as such, will be expected to form an open and responsive working relationship with them.
Candidates must have experience of working in UK personal taxation within the financial services sector and, ideally, will have a good knowledge of Capital Gains Tax. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail are also essential. You should display excellent verbal and written communication skills, have a positive outlook and be flexible and adaptable in your approach. This role would suit a computer literate and highly numerate individual who can work well under pressure to tight deadlines.
