Your responsibilities – concentrated:

After thorough hands on training, you will take over a wide range of responsibilities managing the scientific sales of Coherent products. The main customer base is leading research institutes and Universities. Your job will consist of driving new account development and expansion of the existing customer base. The sales process includes the creation of leads through customer visits, through exhibitions, and following up on company advertisement, as well as personal contact to laser work groups. You will represent Coherent in negotiations with customers, including the preparation of complete offers and you will work regularly with our international Sales team and Business Units in order to define superior products that meet the requirements of your customers. Additionally, the position may also involve participation in the sales and support of other Coherent products and the ownership of market development initiatives. You must be able to work unaided at customer sites once training is completed. The office is located in Ely but you may be based in other areas of the UK. The position involves extensive travel primarily in the UK and Ireland, but occasionally other parts of Europe and the USA.

Your capabilities - widely spread:

For this position you will have a PhD or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Applied Laser Technology or Physics. Experience of industry specific sales of technically complex products in an international/multicultural environment is required. Your responsibilities also require the willingness to frequently travel. Laser technology and application experience is desired. Knowledge of the scientific market and applications is welcome. You are a team player that is flexible and can work in a structured environment with a high degree of independence and self motivation.
