Welding & Materials Development Engineer

Applying expert knowledge of welding processes and their application to ensure all products meet specification, standards and performance requirements, in the role of Welding & Materials Development Engineer you will:

  • Work collaboratively with engineering and the customer at quotation stage to assist in defining weld process and technical requirements
  • Ensure customer weld quality requirements are sufficiently defined throughout the project and actively participate in regular progress review meetings
  • Take a lead role in significant weld processing issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Identify, develop and implement common processes and procedures and mentor others in their application
  • Proactively work across the organisation to identify and drive weld process improvement projects, based on solid technical and product knowledge
  • Develop sub-contractors through compilation and verification of weld procedures
  • Provide after-sales support on weld process and technical issues.

In addition to expert knowledge of weld processes, their applications and limitations, you will have an innovative ability to enable the research and creation of new processes and products as required and preferably an appropriate degree level qualification.  Other qualifications may be accepted at the discretion of Engineering Management.
