Job Summary

Grade: 11 - £34,220 - £36,357(pro rata) Hours: 35.00 hours per week (term time) Location: Dalry Nursery Centre, Dalry What is the Role? To deputise for the Head and assist in the management and delivery of a quality education and care service for young children and their families.

What will you do?

To manage/deliver the Service in accordance with the Council's corporate policies and procedures and relevant strategy provision. To manage/deliver the service outcomes, in the most efficient and effective way, that delivers the Council's corporate objectives, Business Plans and contributes to the production of Service Plans. To manage and monitor Capital and Revenue budgets as assigned and contribute to budget development. To lead, or contribute to, the preparation of cross-service business development plans, as required. To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities.

What do you need to bring?

The successful candidate will require a professional qualification in Education, Social Work or equivalent. Registered with/or in process of registering with SSSC. Experience of working with young children and families in a variety of settings. Knowledge of current development re Curriculum for Excellence. Knowledge of care standards, and self evaluation procedures. Knowledge of current relevant resources, research and initiatives on a local and national level. Awareness of priorities in Early Years Framework. Awareness of the importance of parent participation in education. Ability to take responsibility and use initiative. Ability to lead and motivate a staff team and be able to communicate effectively with children, parents & support services. Must also have good organisational skills. Be approachable, motivated, flexible and pro-active. Also must be able to work unsociable hours if required and have a knowledge of and commitment to key local and national policies.
