Grade: 12 £36,905 - £39,153 (pro-rata) Hours: 35 hours per week (term-time) Location: Dalry Nursery, Dalry What is the Role? To manage a Nursery Centre to ensure the provision of a fully inclusive service of quality education and care for children aged 0 to 5 years, in line with national guidelines and care standards.
What will you do?
To manage/deliver the Service in accordance with the Council's corporate policies and procedures and relevant strategy provision. To manage/deliver the service outcomes, in the most efficient and effective way, that delivers the Council's corporate objectives, Business Plans and contributes to the production of Service Plans. To manage and monitor Capital and Revenue budgets as assigned and contribute to budget development. To lead, or contribute to, the preparation of cross-service business development plans, as required. To ensure the effective management and leadership of employees, where appropriate. To prepare and co-ordinate report for the Council, its Committees or working parties and to attend theses meetings as required. To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities.
What do you need to bring?
The successful candidate must have a professional qualification in Education, Social Work or equivalent. Registered with/or in process of registering with SSSC. Have managerial experience in 0 - 8 setting, experience of working with young children and families in a variety of settings. Also experience in delivering quality pre-five education and childcare and experience of successfully implementing the Curriculum for Excellence. Must have a knowledge of care standards and self evaluation procedures and a knowledge of current relevant resources, research and initiatives on a local and national level. Have an awareness of priorities in Early Years Framework. Must have the ability to take responsibility and use initiative, lead and motivate a staff team, communicate effectively at all levels, implement innovative practice. Be motivated, flexible and pro-active. Must be able to work unsociable hours if required and a knowledge of and commitment to key local and national policies.
