Job Advert

Located in Kilsyth Academy, you will provide servicing to technical workrooms, including cyclical maintenance of metalwork and woodwork machines.

Your duties will include care and maintenance of hand tools, preparation of wood and metal for classes. You will be responsible for receiving, checking, storing and documentation of equipment and materials, making teaching aids and assisting teaching staff and maintenance of machinery including cyclical maintenance on portable and fixed machinery. You will be required to provide first line maintenance of computer networking, hardware and software as appropriate to training provided and competence gained and operate within the flexible working arrangements by providing technical support to other departments within the school as requested by the Senior Technician.

You must be educated to City & Guilds level (or equivalent, HNC, SVQ3) in an appropriate discipline, preferably with an engineering background and maintenance experience, you also require knowledge of a range of associated jobs and an understanding of relevant theory underpinned by an extended period of relevant working experience. Good communication skills, the ability to work with others as part of a team or on your own initiative and the ability to work closely and responsibly with children are essential.

This post is temporary for a period of 12 months.
