Job Description

Based at Warddykes Primary School, Arbroath covering the Angus area, working 27.5 hours per week, term-time only (195 days), you will provide support to pupils aged 3-18 and teachers in relation to children with additional support needs and challenging behaviour. You will assist in a range of duties including preparing classroom resources and activities and supervising and assisting children during non-teaching time.
These jobs are temporary until 20 December 2013 in the first instance.

Requirements

You must have good oral and written communication skills, a flexible approach to work and be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate an inclusive attitude to children with varying abilities. You will also have empathy and commitment to children with additional support needs and an awareness of confidentiality.

Experience of working with children aged 3-18 with additional support needs and challenging behaviour is desirable as is knowledge of child development and how these can be affected by social, emotional and behavioural needs. A First Aid qualification and moving and handling training are desirable and you must be willing to undertake any necessary training.

A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

You must have the ability to become a member of the PVG Scheme.
