Services to People Community & Regulatory Services Housing Support Officer Salary: Grade 6 / £22,995 - £25,885 Temporary until March 2012 : Full Time 36 hours per week Job Summary To provide, as part of a team, a Housing Support service to vulnerable people. The post holder will support service users to develop skills in independent living in order to gain or maintain a tenancy or suitable accommodation.

The post holders will work as part of a team providing a responsive and effective housing support service:

1. Support and assist vulnerable service users to maintain permanent sustainable tenancies, overcoming social isolation, improving the quality of their lives and preventing repeat homelessness.
2. Help service users achieve greater independence.
3. Work closely with, often taking instruction from, other specialist support agencies.
