What is the role?
Based in Ayr your responsibilities will include: the survey, measurement and valuation of both non-domestic and domestic properties throughout Ayrshire for Rating and Council Tax Banding purposes, the discussion and negotiation of appeals with taxpayers and professional agents, preparing cases for presentation to the Local Valuation Appeal Committee and, when required, appearing as an expert witness at Hearings before the Committee. Applicants should be a Member of the Royal Instituation of Chartered Surveyors (Valuation) and should have experience in valuation for Rating and Council Tax with the ability to survey and value all lands and heritages. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. In addition, the remuneration package includes a flexible working week (35 hrs), contributory pension scheme and generous annual and statutory leave.
