Salary: £17,864 - £22,673 Based in Buccleuch House, Dalkeith, We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and proactive individuals to be part of a team processing Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit (HB/CTB) and dealing with Council Tax administration. You will also be dealing with customer enquiries face to face, over the telephone and in writing. You should have good communication skills both in person and by telephone and also have good Keyboard and Typing skills. This position is on a fixed term contract due to the proposed introduction of Universal Credit to replace HB/CTB.

You must have previous experience of a similar role and have a working knowledge of HB/CTB and Council Tax legislation. You must also be an effective communicator, have accurate data entry skills; and the ability to work under pressure.

You must have at least 3 Standard Grades or equivalent, including English and Maths. The Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) technician qualification is desirable and if you do not have this a qualification bar is applied to the salary.
