Location: Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA

An experienced Business Systems Engineer is required by South Lanarkshire Council to work within the Modernising Government IT Business Systems Team.

You should demonstrate technical abilities as well as being capable of rising to the challenge of working within a demanding and fast paced environment.

To be considered you should be able to demonstrate competency and ability to operate within an IT business support and development environment. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the full development lifecycle and have strong skills in the use of relational databases.

This role will involve the support of the Council’s existing Oracle CRM and Integration technologies but will also include development work within both environments therefore knowledge and understanding of Oracle DB, SQL and PL/SQL is essential. Experience on any of the following would be a distinct advantage: C#, PHP, Oracle eBusiness Suite, Oracle ESB and other integration technologies would be advantageous

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines and have effective problem solving skills combined with the ability to think logically and work effectively within a team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills enabling them to liaise effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
