Deanston Cooper’s client is one of Scotland’s leading Civil Engineering Contractors. They are proud to have achieved accreditation in BS EN ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 and now due to continued planned growth in key business areas including the rail sector, are seeking to appoint of a Quality Compliance Manager, to reinforce their already excellent performance.
The position is based in Glasgow within their core management team and will be central to their on-going performance in Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Preparing, maintaining and reviewing management systems documentation.
- Maintaining ISO/BS/Network Rail and other registrations/accreditations for quality, environmental and health and safety management systems.
- Developing and implementing audit programmes for management systems and business processes.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of targets and objectives to facilitate continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Rail management systems.
- Carrying out formal management system reviews for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Rail management systems.
- Participating and/or facilitating with sub-contractor’s joint audits of their management systems.
- Preparing internal management system reports including summary statistics on management systems performance.
- Assisting in the maintenance of defects and non-conformance schedules and help in the closing out of issues raised.
- Management of sub-contractor / supplier pre-qualification systems.
- Carrying out regular site inspections with the relevant Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Rail department members to monitor construction operations to ensure that compliance with the ISO/BS/Rail management systems is being achieved.
- Maintaining rail Principal Contractor’s Licence and Link Up approvals, maintaining and monitoring network rail updates, policy updates and procedural changes and ensuring that the appropriate company procedures are updated to reflect changes.
Applications are welcome from candidates with:
- Degree and/or relevant qualification in health and safety, environmental and/or quality management.
- Membership of an appropriate professional organisation, e.g. CIQA, IOSH, IEMA
- Experience with a client, consultant or contractor at a similar level
- Previous construction industry experience – preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- The ability to interact with people of all levels
