An excellent opportunity to join a major retailer at their Distribution centre in Central Scotland.They have vacancies for Transport Line Managers to be flexible to work on various shifts.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and motivate colleagues to ensure all operational targets are achieved.
Work closely with all colleagues to create a positive and pleasant environment that ensures colleagues enjoy coming to work.
Ensuring an excellent service is always delivered to customers.
Working closely with other Line Managers and plan the transport operation efficiently.
Lowest cost to operate always and management of all distribution costs.
Succession planning and development of colleagues.
Driving a safety culture to ensure the work environment is safe, clean and clutter free 100% of the time.
Efficiently and ethically dealing with performance management and colleague relations issues.
As part of the Line Manager team manage the network budget through effective KPI control (including unit utilisation and fleet management).
Manage departmental tasks efficiently (including drivers hours, route planning and fleet controls).
Compile information for management reporting.
Ensuring the site operates within the 'O' Licence criteria.
Essential Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
Flexible and adaptable approach with strong analytical and organisational skills
Highly motivated to achieve
People management experience
