An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Territory Communications team for a Public Affairs Officer. The aim of the post is to strengthen and extend our influence with and profile amongst elected representatives and policy makers.  Working to the Head of Territory Communications, you will be expected to work closely with your peers in other territories and with the relevant UK Office teams. You will be a vital part of the team, which also consists of an Internal Communications Officer, a Marketing Officer, and two Media Relations Officers. This is a front line role that makes a vital contribution to the Territory Communications plan.

You will initiate and sustain excellent working relationships with elected representatives and their staff as well as monitor and report on relevant developments in the Scottish Parliament and Northern Ireland Assembly.  You will also be required to position our work and concerns effectively with elected representatives, thereby influencing the development of public policy and/or legislation that has an impact on the organisation. 

You must have significant experience of working in or with the Assembly/Parliament and a sound knowledge of their processes and procedures.  With a proven track record in a similar role you will possess outstanding communication skills and a flair for developing and maintaining relationships while working diplomatically and confidentially.
