What is the Role?
North Ayrshire Council is seeking an exceptional, self motivated individual for a three-year fixed-term appointment to lead and develop the Council's Economic Development & Regeneration Strategy, ensuring that the strategic direction of the Council supports the local economy by attracting inward investment, creating job and training opportunities and stimulating regeneration within local communities. As Lead on our Economic Development & Regeneration three year Action Plan, you will manage a wide and varied remit of responsibilities, including reviewing and supporting plans for co-ordinated Council support and reporting on progress.

What will you do?

You will advise on appropriate approaches to economic development and regeneration and will liaise with the Scottish Government, UK Government and other Public Sector Agencies and Private Sector organisations to seek support for the regeneration of North Ayrshire and the creation of job and training opportunities. You will establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners, both externally and internally, and will support key officers and members - including the Chair of the Economic Development and Regeneration Board; the Chief Executive, the Corporate Management Team and the Elected Members of the Council - in initiating, developing and implementing strategies for driving and managing change to improve the local economy in North Ayrshire.

What do you need to bring to the Role?

Educated to degree level or equivalent in an apprpriate discipline, you will have Senior management experience within the public, voluntary or care sectors, or in a large organisation. With highly developed communication, persuasive and interpersonal skills, your sound business acumen and strong knowledge of business drivers and external public and private scetor environments will ensure your success in the role.
