Volunteer Befriender Airdrie   £Voluntary

 

The unique roll of Volunteer Befriender adds an important extra dimension to the lives of the people we support by extending and enhancing their individual circle of support and broadening the opportunities and experiences available to them.

 

Cornerstone provides  1-1 support to 2 brothers who have physical disabilities,  who share a tenancy. They are looking for a volunteer,  male or female who's involvement will allow them, together with support staff to attend much needed water therapy and rebound therapy.

In both instances trained staff deliver the activities and the volunteers role would be to offer support assistance and encouragement when required.

 

Pateint, understanding and a keeness to get involved are the requirements for this opportunity.

 

We will provide all relevant training, a named contact person and regular support sessions to all volunteers.

 

We require 2-3 hours weekly for a minimum commitment of 6 months.

 

All travel and reasonable out of pocket expenses
