Where possible, the preferred method for applicants to apply for this post is online. This post is based in Renfrew Care Home, Cockles Loan, Renfrew. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the delivery of care to older adults, consistent with Social Work policies and procedures. This will involve preparing and progressing care plans, applying and assessing health care risks using risk assessment tools, administration of residents medication and writing reports. You must enjoy working with older people and understand their needs; be an effective communicator, show a professional and courteous manner to residents, relatives, carers, health professionals and other agencies; be able to work on your own initiative and be flexible and adaptable with the capacity to learn. Full training and support will be given. The commitment and ability to achieve an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care is essential, whilst possession of this qualification is desirable. Previous experience of working with older adults is also desirable. You must be able to work shifts, including weekends, on a rota basis.and you are required to work towards being registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the PVG Act”) and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution. Accordingly, during the recruitment process, if successful, you will be required to become a PVG Scheme Member.
