Microbiological Ops Manager Edinburgh   £Negotiable depending on experience

Highly successful contract analysis company, has a requirement for an experienced Operations/Microbiology Manager to lead and motivate the analytical team whilst unifying work practices and processes in order to maximise lab processing samples as effectively and efficiently as possible.

As Operations Manager you will responsible for:

•          Management, training, coaching and mentoring teams of Analysts within microbiological and chemical testing.
•          Overseeing QC processes
•          Ensuring high accuracy and quality of results
•          Assisting in purchasing raw materials
•          Managing equipment traceability
•          Maintaining laboratory accreditation
•          Assisting with audits with regulatory bodies and external customers
•          Liaising with clients over OOS results
•          Streamlining all relevant processes and introducing efficient working practices
•          Point of contact for subcontractor, visitors in relation to maintenance and calibration of equipment
•          Validating new analytical methods

The successful applicant will have a degree or higher in a Life Sciences subject and will have worked in a similar Operational or Management role within an Analytical or QC testing environment.  Good experience of Microbiological testing assays is essential and will include for example, Oxidase, API, and Aggulation testing. You will also have worked in a GLP, UKAS or ISO regulated lab environment.
