Pernanent Part-Time 18 hours per week

Salary: £14,069 - £15,610 pro rata Based in Highbank Residential Care Home, 9 Bonnyrigg Road, Dalkeith, you will provide personal care and respond to the social and emotional needs for older people requiring residential care. Highbank also supports older people through their intermediate care beds and assessment beds where the ethos is to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and reduce time spent in hospitals. A positive and caring attitude together with a commitment to supporting residents to maintain their independence in terms of choice is essential. Experience of work in a care home or a domestic care of the elderly is desirable. You must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

You will be expected to gain SVQ2 within a maximum of three years to meet SSSC registration requirements but you may enter the service without this. You will be encouraged and assisted to achieve qualification via in-house training wherever possible during the normal working day.

Please note that hours will be worked on a rota basis and will include weekends.
