Our client has an opportunity for a Planning Manager to join their busy manufacturing site, who will be responsible for the co-ordination of all production planning activities on the site. In particular this will entail ensuring that customer requirements are met whilst aiming for maximum efficiency through production departments in relation to the use of machinery and raw materials.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:-
Work closely with Operations Managers and Logistics Manager to ensure planning, production and logistics departments are synchronised to deliver customer service targets.
Lead change throughout operations, ensuring the most effective use of resources.
Use weekly kill information to forecast raw materials requirements to fulfil customer orders
Ensure maximum efficiency is achieved through production departments in relation to the use of machinery and raw materials.
Ensure provision of detailed production plans for all departments
Analyse actual vs plan on a daily and weekly basis and report on variances.
To explore, develop and implement best practices, identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous performance improvement across all areas of responsibility
Establish and maintain key performance metrics to track the performance of the planning function.
Motivation, training, recruitment and selection for better performance and effective service.
Encourage the continuous development of all members of the Planning team

Experience required for this role includes:-
FMCG planning experience within Meat/Abbatoir
A strong understanding of the factory production capabilities
A knowledge of standard planning systems, SAP, BW, TXT and all Microsoft applications
Experience of managing a planning team
Strong communication skills with the capability to communicate confidently internally & externally
Excellent people skill
Relationship builder with the ability to build and develop strong personal relationships with the supplier and internally
