Our Client requires an experienced goods in quality inspector with the following skills / knowledge for an ongoing contract in the North of Scotland , 3 - 5 months
Required to perform measurement checks on a variety of component types (aluminium diecastings, metal pressings, plastics, painted components, glass, etc), using Verniers, Plug Gauges, Micrometers, in accordance with defined Specifications, Control Plans, etc.
Use / update SAP system, as required
Understand and verify supplier data reports.
Carry out sampling checks on components in accordance with defined sampling plans.
Maintain records of measurement checks and associated documentation.
Support the SQA Engineer with “non-conforming” product returns to suppliers, 8D Report handling,
Essential skills required
Computer literacy (Excel, Word)
Experience of inspection in a similar role
Mechanical assembly background
Experience of measuring aluminium diecasting, metal pressing, plastics, painted components, glass.
Experience of understanding faults / terminology associated with aluminium diecasting, metal pressing, plastics, painted components, and glass.
Experience of using basic measuring equipment, e.g. verniers, Plug gauges, micrometers, etc …
Capability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Experience / understanding of Sampling plans
Experience / understanding of Control Plans, 8D Fault Analysis, etc
