Health and Safety Adviser (Food & Drink Industry) Livingston   Salary Max 25k

Due to growth our West Lothian based client is looking for an experienced, proactive Health and Safety Adviser who will encourage the highest level of performance on the site.

Within this role you will create health and safety policies and make sure that the company and workers put them into practice and follow safety laws.

You will also act as a point of contact for senior level team members and advise them on relevant H&S Procedures.

Other duties will include:

• making regular inspections and risk assessments

• keeping accident records

• training employees on safety issues

• investigating accidents and recommending any improvements in safety standards

• writing reports

•  working with Health and Safety Executive inspectors and trade unions

Candidate requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role within a Food and Drink industry

Previous experience of risk assessments, audits, policies and procedures in the manufacturing environment

NEBOSH

Ideally a Member of  IOSH

up to date knowledge on HSE legislation

ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels
