Salary/Wage: Grade 9a, ££30,581.64 - £34,931.44 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Galashiels
Contract Duration: Temporary until 1 January 2013

We are currently seeking experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Social Worker to join our highly committed and experienced Resources and Family Placement Team which is based in Galashiels but covers all of the Scottish Borders area. As a Social Worker within the Family Placement team you will be responsible for the recruitment, assessment support and training of substitute family carers (including Short Breaks and Kinship carers). You may also be involved in birth records counselling and step parent adoption reports. Scottish Borders Council’s Integrated Children’s Services has a range of services including multi agency Locality Teams, central resources teams, a co-located Child Protection, and integrated social work, education and health resources. A SSSC approved qualification in Social Work eg: Degree, DIPSW, CSS CQSW or equivalent is essential. We will offer you: • Regular, High Quality Supervision and Appraisal
