Financial Services company, based in Edinburgh, is recruiting for the position of Senior Internal Auditor. This is a new role that has come about due to the focus and success of the Audit Function in adding value to the business. You will be hitting the ground running and therefore Financial Services experience is essential and Life and Pensions experience is highly desirable.
The purpose of the role is to undertake internal audit assignments across the business and be responsible and accountable for the completion of those assignments. Key accountabilities include: responsible on a day to day basis for planning and managing designated audits; ensure that these audits or assignments are adequately resourced and completed within expected timescales; identify practical remedial actions with management, agrees action plans, produces high quality draft reports for review by the Senior Audit Manager, and coordinates the final report for issue; provide advice on controls and risk management and other consultancy services as required by the business and management; participation in business-led risk management workshops; supervise, coach and mentor Internal auditors; participate in and undertake special projects and investigations.
To undertake this role you will be a qualified internal auditor / accountant with experience of undertaking either internal / external audits within the financial services sector. You will also possess excellent communication skills and have the desire to progress their career either within audit or in a line role within the business.
