You will assist in the delivery of a high quality education and care service to pre 5 children and their families and to work as part of the management team to assist in the effective management of the pre-five centre. The main duties of the post will include planning and implementation of an appropriate curriculum for children aged 3-5 years; assessment recording and reporting on children’s progress; supporting staff in curriculum planning, assessment and observation practices; monitoring the development and implementation of IEP’s; developing parental participation; promoting work with other agencies and contributing to the management of the service. You must have an HNC in Childcare and Education/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification as defined by the Scottish Social Services Council; experience in curriculum planning and delivering a curriculum; report & asessment writing; sound knowledge of relevant national early years curriculum, childcare development and council policies and procedures. In addition you must have the ability to demonstrate commitment to paternal involvement; support & guide staff; work as part of a team and be flexible to meet needs of the service . It is essential that you are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.
This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the PVG Act”) and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution. Accordingly, during the recruitment process, if successful, you will be required to become a PVG Scheme Member.
