Interviews will be held week commencing 16th July 2012 Building Services deliver both housing and non-housing repair and refurbishment programmes using multi disciplinary teams of approx 400 operatives. As part of a modernisation of the service we now require a highly motivated Senior Estimator to prepare job estimates and competitive tenders in order to provide a comprehensive, cost effective commercial and professional estimating service on a variety of major building and maintenance contracts.
The role includes; ensuring tender documents, budget estimates, material and sub contract quotations are completed to deadlines and are prepared and returned in accordance with the Councils requirements.
Effectively liaising with other internal and external customers, service providers and assisting with the preparation of programmes. Establishing effective links with other service areas to ensure that high quality customer oriented service delivery is achieved.

Reporting on progress, assessing returned quotations and monitoring prevailing market forces for tendering purposes

The Senior Estimator will assist with continuous improvement and the development of efficient and effective services whilst maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will have considerable experience in a senior estimating role with excellent financial management ability, in a building maintenance or construction industry, or similar environment. You must be qualified to BSc in Building or Quantity Surveying or equivalent and preferably working towards professional membership of Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).
