Hansel Alliance supports around 600 people each year. As a Registered Social Care Provider, Hansel offers an extensive range of care and support services to adults with learning disabilities across South, East and North Ayrshire. Through a person centred approach, working in active partnership with families, social work and NHS we actively empower each individual to take control of life decisions and to make choices which directly shape their preferred lifestyle, experiences and aspirations.  We are committed to the principles of personalisation, involvement and participation.

In recognition of our extensive experience in the provision of respite services, on behalf of North Ayrshire Council, Hansel has recently won an exciting opportunity to manage and deliver services in a residential respite care home called Taigh Mor, located in Beith. We are now looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Service Manager to effectively lead, develop and support the Taigh Mor team.

Using their knowledge and experience of social care management, preferably with experience of delivering respite and short break services,  Hansel’s Service Manager at Taigh Mor will be responsible for ensuring a consistently high quality, flexible and individualised respite service is delivered each week to 8 adults with learning disabilities and associated additional health and support needs.

With an awareness of personalisation and an understanding of meaningful service user and carer involvement, you will be able to motivate and lead a team which consistently meets the individual needs of service users during the respite break. You will be an effective communicator and work consistently and transparently with a range of stakeholders to evidence the quality of the Taigh Mor service. You will be responsive, innovative and inclusive in your respite service management approach. You will work in a way that empowers, promotes meaningful choices and focuses clearly on positive outcomes for the people.

As the Service Manager you will possess an SVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) with a recognised management qualification and have a proven track record in providing effective management in a Social Care setting.

This post is a full time permanent position which will require a degree of flexibility, including shared responsibility and participation in the service’s emergency on-call rota.  A UK driving licence and car are also essential to the role.
