Change Recruitment are working with a leading International engineering services company in the recruitment of their new Bids/Proposals Manager, to be based at their offices in Rosyth.

This is a key appointment that has arisen due to the relocation within the company of the current post holder. The ideal candidate will have solid Bids & Proposals experience, ideally gained within a technical environment, and will take responsibility for proposal submissions for all commercial projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage formal bid process for live proposals through to completion
  • Engage with clients during bid process, ensuring a clear understanding of the proposal and requirements
  • Manage the negotiation of acceptable terms and conditions
  • Assess and define technical details, giving advice and guidance (both technical and non-technical) internally to the proposal support team and to the client as necessary
  • Review business strategies with Senior Management and reflect this in responses to clients
  • Engage with relevant technical sources within the company to gain information for proposals
  • Ensure compliance with company Corporate Regulations
  • Ensure all company proposals are of a high professional standard of presentation and are technically and commercially accurate
  • Facilitate detailed cost and resource estimates
  • Manage and report the business pipeline
  • Support Business Development Team as required

    Skills, experience, qualifications and personal traits required:

  • Educated to at least HNC level OR with relevant experience, preferably gained within a relevant technical discipline
  • Ideally, proven experience within a technical/engineering environment
  • Confident user of various IT packages including the Microsoft Office suite. CAD experience would be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to lead a team and work under own initiative
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally at all levels
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines within short time frames, in a process driven environment
  • Capable of time management ensuring deadlines are kept
  • Client focus and market awareness
  • Willingness to travel
