Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Engineer 2 - Individual Leader, based in Inverness.
Job Description
Use and application of standard principles, theories and concepts in the field is required as well as the possible requirement of working knowledge of other related disciplines Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions Contribute to the origination or direction of experiments through the development of methodologies, review, analyze, interpret data and prepare reports May be actively involved with technical consultants Understanding of overall objectives of the business and the ability to change priorities to suit them Plan and prioritise work in the immediate work situation. Provide sound solutions to clearly defined problems/issues which require a grasp of theory and trained analysis Understanding of potential costs of final products and presenting of schemes to reduce /control these costs Understanding the company's manufacturing processes and designing products for good manufacturing practices Address problems that require the adaptation of existing methodologies with high-level analysis and evaluation of issues Evaluation of available options and implementation of the best course of action Make mostly autonomous technical decisions Provide a service to customers by ensuring that the detailed specification of products meets the requirements of the market Agree service standards (service level agreements - timescales, quality etc) with internal and external customers ensuring that those standards are maintained in the work of teams in R&D Work with timescales that are consistent with their annual objectives to encompass short term thinking and planning Challenge the technical output of teams to ensure they are coherent and focused on meeting business objectives Practice technical skills and perform experimentation at a high standard of safety, proficiency and efficiency and produce appropriate and timely written documentation Contribute to the intellectual property strategy for the project that they are involved in Provide detailed input to annual budgeting cycle Skills & Experience
B.Sc. or B. Engineering Degree required plus relevant experience Post-graduate qualification preferred Masters degree plus relevant experience or doctorate Ability to apply theory and practice from other technical fields to the problems in hand Ability to determine personal priorities to achieve short and long term objectives Ability to integrate related technical activities Ability to exert influence amongst peers within the relevant specialist field Communicate clearly and effectively over a broad range of issues including the conveyance of abstract concepts as well as factual and/or technical information Communicate difficult concepts to an audience having differing levels of knowledge and understanding This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
