My client is a large subsidiary of an Industry leading environmental business, and is in its own right a leading player in its field. Due to continued success they are now in position to recruit extra resource for the engineering function in the form of Site Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day supervision of site activities relating to construction, commissioning & handover to the client of a range of projects on complex operational sites, where Health and Safety is the Key Driver.
- Supervision of mechanical, civil works, tank erection, piping and electrical sub-contractors.
- You will develop close relations with client’s staff in order to minimise the impact of construction activities on manufacturing operations.
- Maintenance and plant upgrade projects will also be undertaken.
- You will manage health and safety and environmental standards in a petrochem environment.
- You will support the project manager on all site related issues, including design or contractor management.
- You will act as a conduit for direct labour and /or sub-contractors to raise issues with the client.
- Verify operative/sub-contractor and/or vendor activities to assist with measuring claims and work related costs.
Person/Experience:
- Time Served/ Recognised Mechanical Engineering or Pipefitting apprenticeship.
- HNC/HND OR Equivalent in Engineering discipline.
- CCNSG Safety Passport or IOSH equivalent.
- Experience of work planning and site supervisory experience.
- Ability to monitor a number of projects simultaneously.
- Experience of electrical and/or civil works (Desirable).
- Experience of petrochemical and/or power site regulations.
- A strong working knowledge of HSE (Risk Assessment, Method statement, manual handling etc).
