Job Description

Sport Hub Development Officer - Temp until March 2013 - 10996

Inverclyde Council in partnership with sportscotland wish to appoint a Sport Hub Development Officer to strengthen its existing team. This is a key appointment in the relation to the development of sportscotland’s national programme of Community Sport Hubs within Inverclyde. We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, proactive, personable, problem-solving person with extensive experience working in sport, education, health or leisure industry.

The successful applicant will be required to build excellent relationships with sports clubs to raise their profile as local providers of sport. Supporting them to develop and grow in order to increase the number of people participating in sport.

Knowledge and understand of sport club structures, developing partnerships, devising strategic plans and proven project management experience will all be essential elements in working towards the concept of Community Sport Hubs in Inverclyde.

The hours are flexible which will include evening and weekend work. Essential Candidate Specification
  • Higher National Certificate or equivalent.
  • Considerable relevant experience of working at a similar level in the field of sport, education, health, leisure and/or recreation industries.
  • Must have considerable proven project and budget management experience.
  • Experience in successful partnership working.
  • Must have experience of managing staff.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
