Eden Scott's client, based north of the city, is looking to hire a Planning Engineer to establish and manage effectively a planning and progress control system, in order to support the Project Manager's decision-making process and allow him to complete the project, according to the internal baselines and in compliance with the contractual dates and requirements.

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Project Control Manager within the Project Controls department, the successful candidate will ensure any deviation from the plan is promptly spotted and analysed, final time impact is estimated and the effect of corrective actions is taken and monitored. Create a schedule awareness atmosphere among all project participants.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

*Produce and maintain projects plans, including s-curves, histograms, etc. Maintain close contact with Project Managers and Project Team members to ensure real progress data are used.
*Timely inform Project Managers of deadlines and/or possible non-compliance in fulfilling project milestones.
*Assist any other Company Department's when required, in all matters related to planning of their activities. This will depend on current workload and upon request of the Operations Manager.
*Produce weekly/monthly project status reports to Project Managers and Operations Manager. This including, but not limited to, schedules and progress.
*Attend and hold weekly Project Status Meetings.
*Prepare and update project's planning procedures in line with management and QA procedures and prepare / introduce any improvement that could optimise the project planning process.
*Work in strict co-operation with the Document Controller to ensure exchange of information and integration of projects progress status.
*To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of the organisation's current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
*To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with the company's policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with specific procedures.
*To ensure his/her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

*Good secondary education.
*Previous experience in either a project planning or document control position within the offshore/subsea industry.
*Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera P3, Microsoft Access packages.
